(2014) Bringing attention to an issue to lead the conversation

As Panama struggled to resolve a budget dispute with a consortium of European builders over a plan to widen the Panama Canal, the WSJ's Dan Molinski boarded one of our vessels from the Pacific to the Atlantic to talk about the economic impact of the historic waterway. Maersk being the largest Panama Canal user impacted our expansion plans, so our team brought attention to the dispute with the goal of minimizing delays to the Panama Canal expansion project. Published January 19, 2014. The parts reached an agreement a month later, and the expanded Canal was inaugurated in June 2016.
